Hey Reader,

Did you do something special this past Memorial Day? My family hung the flag out, as we do on all patriotic holidays, and put steaks on the barbecue. I bought some store-made potato salad this year because 1. I didn't have time to make home-made potato salad and 2. I had a coupon. LOL. We also had corn on the cob. A yummy meal.

We did not get to the cemeteries to decorate graves this Memorial Day (formerly known as Decoration Day) as they are quite a distance from where we live, but we do have veterans on both sides of our family. They have all passed on now, although none of them died in a war conflict. We know that volunteer groups decorate the graves of all the veterans which is really a blessing and honor.
